Subwoofers

In a perfect audio world, there would only be you, the listener, and two loudspeakers. Those two loudspeakers would reproduce your music as if you were witnessing the live performance. It’s the purist’s ideal. Unfortunately, we all live and listen in the real world. And in the real world of sound, no loudspeaker can reproduce the entire frequency range of a musical performance. It just isn’t going to happen. Enter the subwoofer. Without the subwoofer to fill out the low frequencies, the music lacks muscle. Yes, a subwoofer is another box in the room, but it’s a small visual price to pay for the way a musical performance is lifted to greater heights.
